About

An exhibition of work by Fukuoka-based artist aoisimon, bringing aliens, characters and imagined worlds to Middlesbrough as part of Creative Arc: Fukuoka–Teesside.

COMIC WORLDS opens at The Auxiliary on 15 October 2026 and runs until 31 October, presenting work by Fukuoka-based artist aoisimon. The exhibition brings the artist's universe of aliens, characters and imagined worlds to Teesside, shaped by travel, encounters with unfamiliar places and the friendships that emerge from them. It follows international showings in New York, Singapore, Tokyo, Taiwan and most recently TAT ART SPACE in Bali in September 2026. The show is part of Creative Arc: Fukuoka–Teesside, supported by Turner on Tees, and is followed in November by Stuart Langley's solo exhibition POLISHING TURDS.
