Kitty Atholl: A Duchess and Westminster's Most Surprising Pioneer and Rebel

A talk by Amy Gray on the contradictory life of Kitty Atholl, the pioneering Duchess of Atholl who defied convention in politics.

Amy Gray, author of Red Duchess, presents a lecture on Katharine, Duchess of Atholl — a pioneering female politician who opposed votes for women, shared platforms with communists, stood with Spanish refugees and challenged fascism. The talk explores how she rose above the constraints of class and convention, campaigned with political opponents and wrote her own political playbook. The 90-minute lecture is held in person at Dagnall Street Baptist Church and also streamed via Zoom.
