Aghaidh Ris An Achadh – Facing The Field

Fraser MacBeath’s immersive audiovisual installation combines salvaged materials, community archive film, recordings and interactive software to explore rural depopulation, memory and place.

The installation combines salvaged architectural materials, fragments of community archive films, field and archival recordings, spatial sound and interactive software. Its changing output responds to how many people are in the gallery, asking how small cultures and local traditions are carried forward as populations and systems change. It is free to visit in Galleries 1 and 2, Monday–Saturday, 10am–4pm during the published run.
