Backstage Tours
About
A one-hour guided backstage tour of the grade II listed Theatre Royal Brighton, exploring its 200-year history, backstage areas and theatrical secrets.
This one-hour guided tour takes visitors behind the curtain of one of the country's oldest working theatres. Participants can stand onstage, see the 'gulp bar' used by Laurence Olivier and explore the backstage area built from fishermen's cottages, while hearing stories from the theatre's 200-plus-year history. Tours run on Saturday mornings, with the 10 and 17 October tours starting at 9.30am instead of 10.30am. Access is by staircase only, comfortable footwear is advised, and visitors meet at Stage Door in Bond Street five minutes before the start. Age guidance is 12+ and adults.
