Empty Chairs: Lock Stock & Barrel

Empty Chairs is an initiative that creates low-pressure social spaces in a pub to combat loneliness and encourage human connection.

Empty Chairs is an initiative designed to create spaces where people can connect without pressure or expectation. Hosts book a small table in a pub and leave a few chairs empty, inviting anyone who wants company to join. The hosts, who wear orange, remain at the table for at least an hour starting at 7pm. It is completely free to join for a chat, though attendees only pay for their own drinks if they choose to have any.
