Library Makerspace, University of Leeds
About
A monthly drop-in Repair Café where skilled volunteers help you fix clothes, gadgets, appliances and toys for free at the Library Makerspace.
The University of Leeds Repair Café hosts a monthly drop-in session at the Library Makerspace on the ground floor of Edward Boyle Library. Volunteers help visitors repair clothes, shoes, textiles and jewellery, phones, laptops and tablets, small appliances, music and audio equipment, and children's toys, using facilities including a 3D printer, sewing machine and overlocker, soldering stations and hand tools. There is no cost, though visitors may need to buy parts for some repairs; no booking is required and people can turn up any time between 1pm and 4pm. Note that a University ID card is needed to enter the library gates, and each month the café runs on a different day.
