Knit to Commit!

Free weekly knitting and crochet classes for all abilities, taught by Deshaun at his Rye Lane market shop, culminating in a Christmas showcase.

Deshaun, an experienced knitting and crochet teacher, runs friendly Tuesday-evening classes at his shop and community hub in Rye Lane Market, Peckham. Beginners are provided with needles, hooks and yarn, while experienced crafters bring their own materials and receive expert guidance on their own projects. The term runs weekly from September to 15 December 2026 and finishes with a Christmas Showcase on Saturday 19 December at Bells Gardens Community Centre, where friends and family can see what class members have made. The event is described as neurodiverse-friendly and is funded by Southwark Council.
