City of Glasgow Chorus – "Lux Aeterna" and "Free the Spirit"

The City of Glasgow Chorus performs Rutter's Feel the Spirit and Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna in concert at Sherbrooke Mosspark Church.

The City of Glasgow Chorus gives a concert pairing two choral works. Feel the Spirit is John Rutter's cycle of seven familiar spirituals, including "Steal away", "I got a robe" and "When the saints go marching in", arranged for mezzo-soprano solo and mixed choir, with Cheryl Forbes as soloist. The programme also features Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna, a celebrated five-movement quasi-Requiem known for its luminous harmony, sacred and meditative character, and themes of light and eternal rest.
