A family evening trail through the House, Oates galleries and gardens pairs Antarctic exploration, hands-on crafts and stories with an outdoor light trail.

Visitors can explore Captain Oates’s Antarctic collections, make constellation crafts, step into an Antarctic tent, discover the museum by torchlight and follow a wildlife-conscious Christmas lights route with glowing penguins. Published dates are 3–5, 10–12 and 17–22 December 2026. Six timed entries run from 16:00 to 18:30 in half-hour steps; each visit lasts 90 minutes. The site is open for the trail 16:00–20:15; café last orders are 19:45.
