Coach Trip: EWT Abberton Reservoir
About
A coach trip from central London to Abberton Reservoir in Essex to watch wintering wildfowl, guided by the RSPB Central London Local Group.
The RSPB Central London Local Group runs a coach trip to Essex Wildlife Trust's Abberton Reservoir, one of Europe's most important wetlands for wildfowl, as the winter season begins. The group will scan the open water and causeways for gathering wildfowl including Goldeneye, Goosander and possibly early Smew, along with wintering grebes and divers. Participants can walk the reserve with two expert volunteer guides or explore independently; the trip suits both experienced birdwatchers and beginners. The coach departs Stop 40B, Victoria Embankment at 08:00 and leaves the reserve at 16:00, with the day lasting around 11 hours.
