Manchester Folk Festival 2027: John Kirkpatrick and Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne
About
A Manchester Folk Festival 2027 concert pairing folk veterans John Kirkpatrick and Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne in a celebration of English traditional concertina music and song.
As part of Manchester Folk Festival 2027's tenth-anniversary programme, this show brings together two generations of English folk musicians in a new duo. John Kirkpatrick, an MBE-decorated virtuoso of melodeon, Anglo concertina and button accordion, joins award-winning singer and concertina player Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, also known from the trio Granny's Attic. The pair perform traditional songs and tunes, drawing on other genres for inspiration, and promise the world's first duet for bass Anglo concertinas. Doors open at 7pm.
