Introduction to Abney's Ecology

A free guided walk introducing the ecology of Abney Park nature reserve, from fungi to invertebrates.

This guided walk introduces the ecology of Abney Park, designated Hackney's first local nature reserve in 1993. Participants will learn why the site's woodland ecology matters, including how fallen trees support fungi and invertebrates, and why it is increasingly under threat. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and starts from inside the main entrance; free tickets must be booked in advance, with donations appreciated.
