About
A temporary exhibition follows the Isle of Axholme before and after Cornelius Vermuyden’s drainage works.
Historic maps, local migration and residents’ responses trace changes to the Isle of Axholme and Hatfield Chase from the seventeenth-century drainage project through later landscape management. The museum publishes the exhibition from 21 November 2026 through 9 May 2027.
