Project 229

A free volunteer-run repair café where people bring one item per household for help fixing bikes, electrics, textiles and more.

Bedford Repair Café volunteers invite people to bring one item per household for free repair help, arriving any time between 10am and 2.30pm. They can tackle bikes, small electrical items, textiles, gardening equipment and general DIY fixes, though microwaves, leaky kettles or irons and large items such as fridges cannot be accepted. Volunteers aim to teach visitors how to fix their own things rather than provide a repair service, and spare parts are not supplied but can be sourced with their help.
