The Theatrics of Nature: Jessica Brodigan
About
A free exhibition of Jessica Brodigan's paintings exploring memory, identity and vulnerability through mythic, psychologically charged landscapes.
Jessica Brodigan's paintings explore parallel spaces and figures as vehicles for memory, identity and vulnerability. Her palette moves between softness and unease, with enigmatic figures and ornate creatures inhabiting fluid, psychologically charged landscapes where bodies dissolve into land and forms shift between human, natural and mythical states. Influenced by Pre-Raphaelite and Rococo painting, the work uses intuitive mark-making and layered surfaces, drawing on research into monuments and watchful figures such as the Westbury White Horse. The exhibition is displayed in the Park Gallery.
