A house guide traces Torre Abbey’s 800-year story, from its medieval monastery and the Cary family to the artists and museum visitors know today.

Join house guide John Melsher to explore the Abbey’s medieval origins, the influence of the Cary family and the people and events that shaped its later life as an estate, gallery and museum. Tours run on Thursdays at 10:30, 12:00, 13:30 and 15:00 and are included with Abbey admission. The main building is described as 96% accessible for wheelchair users and mobility scooters; the page notes the lift is currently out of service.
