About

The uplifting true-story musical Come From Away runs at Concordia Theatre, telling how Gander, Newfoundland welcomed 7,000 stranded passengers after 9/11.

This musical is based on the true events of 11 September 2001, when 38 diverted flights carrying nearly 7,000 passengers landed in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, nearly doubling its population overnight. Rather than focusing on fear or tragedy, the show centres on the generosity and compassion shown by the local townspeople towards the stranded travellers, known as "come from aways". The production runs at Concordia Theatre from 22 to 27 February 2027 with performances at 19:30, and children under 3 are not permitted in the auditorium.
