Monsters, Mystery and Darkness: 4-Week Creative Writing Course

A four-week lantern-lit creative writing course in the woods at Moorlands Nature Reserve, led by York Creatives.

This outdoor evening course explores monsters, myths and mystery through weekly writing sessions among the trees of Moorlands nature reserve. Each 90-minute session opens with a short grounding ritual and moves through themes from history and folklore to collaborative idea-building, refining work with peer feedback, and a final storytelling night after dark. No experience is needed; participants bring a notebook and pen, with teas and coffees provided.
