Visits from the Darkness

An evening of two spine-chilling tales, Dickens' The Signalman and FP McGreal's The Cabinet of Cruelty, performed by Gerard Logan.

Visits from the Darkness is a theatrical evening exploring the fear that our own terror can summon supernatural creatures into being. It pairs Charles Dickens' The Signalman, in which a visitor hears of a spectral figure whose appearances presage tragic rail accidents, with FP McGreal's The Cabinet of Cruelty, in which a writer-broadcaster is haunted by a fictional character of his own creation. The piece is performed by Gerard Logan, directed by Gareth Armstrong, with music by Simon Slater.
