About

Tim Healey and the Oxford Waits trio discuss 17th-century Oxford's music scene through a talk and performance.

The event explores the city's music scene from four hundred years ago, when musicians like The Oxford Waits played ceremonial tunes and entertained audiences. Tim Healey, director of the present-day Oxford Waits, discusses the era's music, which was often found in ballad sheets, while the trio illustrates the songs and tunes in period costume. The session includes a talk and performance, followed by 15 minutes for audience questions.
