About
Sounds of the City is an exhibition celebrating Oxford's vibrant grassroots music scene, spanning from the 1990s to the present day.
The exhibition showcases objects, memorabilia, and stories detailing Oxford's multi-genre music scene, which included indie rock, electronic, folk, reggae, classical, and punk. It marks 30 years since BBC Radio 1 Sound City Oxford in 1997. The display highlights pivotal moments, such as Ride's shoegaze origins, Supergrass's seminal album, and Radiohead's hometown show.
