Philharmonia Concert: Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto with Sean Shibe

Guitarist Sean Shibe joins the Philharmonia for Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, followed by Mendelssohn's Fourth Symphony.

The Philharmonia Orchestra performs Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with guitarist Sean Shibe, a cornerstone of the classical guitar repertoire evoking the gardens of a Spanish royal palace. After the interval the programme moves to Italy with Mendelssohn's Fourth Symphony, the composer's own 'jolliest piece', ending in a fiery folk dance. The concert takes place in the Main Auditorium with full flat seating, with doors and the bar opening at 7:00pm.
