Christmas Crime Festival: Pepper's Pickle - An Immersive Courtroom Experience For Children
About
An interactive Christmas courtroom trial for children, where young juries decide whether Pepper Minstix is guilty of a festive crime.
Pepper's Pickle is a festive interactive courtroom trial for children and families, staged in the historic courtroom at Bradford City Hall as part of the Bradford Christmas Crime Festival 2026. Pepper Minstix has been arrested after being found beside a family's Christmas tree, and young visitors sit as the jury, hearing from a dramatic witness, a prosecutor, a defence lawyer and a judge before deciding the verdict. Written by Ann Morgan and performed by the museum's volunteer group The Museum Players, the show lasts around 30 minutes and combines courtroom drama, comedy and Christmas storytelling. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the courtroom is reached via steep steps with no handrail.
