Katazome Japanese print on textile workshop

Textile artist Emi Fujisawa leads a practical workshop in katazome, a Japanese paste-resist print and dye technique.

Participants design and cut templates in Japanese katazome paper, apply rice paste to natural fabric with katazome brushes, and dye the fabric with indigo. The workshop produces three or four A4 pieces and includes a recipe for rice paste to take home.
