Phil Coy, sixty beats per minute, 60BPM 33RPM + Stereo Pair
About
Phil Coy launches his debut album 60BPM 33RPM and book Stereo Pair with his sound installation sixty beats per minute at Cafe OTO, plus films and an in conversation.
Phil Coy brings his sound installation sixty beats per minute to Cafe OTO to celebrate the launch of his debut album 60BPM 33RPM on Flaming Pines and his new book Stereo Pair, published by Slimvolume. The installation turns the venue into a live instrument, amplifying a dripping tap and the ambient sounds of Dalston Junction while recording and reversing time in a feedback loop between digital and analogue time. The evening includes films and outtakes from Coy's back catalogue, from Organ (2026) to Sound Mirror (1999), plus a rare BFI screening of Alan Blumlein's first stereo films. Coy is joined by writers Lee Mackinnon and Gareth Evans for an in conversation.
