Lucy Adlington explores the fabrics of flight, tracing parachutes from aeronauts and wingsuits to underwear and wedding gowns.

History Wardrobe’s Parachute Fashion presentation follows the fabrics that allow people to fly and fall safely, tracing materials from hot-air balloons and pioneer descents to squirrel wingsuits, aeroplanes, and parachutes. Dress historian Lucy Adlington uses stories and vintage garments to show how feather-light, strong materials have saved lives, shaped battles, and inspired fashion, including underwear and wedding gowns.
