Wilkie and his Circle

An exhibition of paintings, watercolours and etchings by Sir David Wilkie and associated Scottish genre painters, marking the publication of a new catalogue of Wilkie's paintings.

The Fine Art Society presents an exhibition of works by Sir David Wilkie and the Scottish painters who followed his lead in genre painting, running from 13 November to 23 December 2026. The show marks the publication of 'David Wilkie: The Complete Paintings' by the Paul Mellon Centre, written by Hamish Miles and edited by Alex Kidson — the first complete catalogue of Wilkie's paintings. Works on display include oils, watercolours, drawings and etchings by Wilkie and his contemporaries, some of which are available to purchase.
