About

Folk supergroup Spell Songs return to Celtic Connections with music inspired by the Lost Words books, joined live by artist Jackie Morris.

Spell Songs, the musical collaboration inspired by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris's Lost Words and Lost Spells books, performs at Celtic Connections 2027. The show blends music, words and art with kora, electroharp, cello and Indian harmonium, drawing on influences from Orkney to Senegal. The set features songs from their latest album In Thin Air alongside material from their earlier albums, while Jackie Morris paints creatures and birds live in ink and watercolour on stage.
