Copying Cooper: Hidden Gems From The Cooper Gallery

Barnsley Museums Culture Companions re-create paintings from the Cooper Gallery collection. Photographs of members alongside the works are displayed outside the Sadler Room, with short videos showing the projects.

The Culture Companions are a group for older people facing social isolation and other barriers to taking part in community life. Their creative project researched paintings in the collection and brought them to life through member portraits. Several of the original works had been in storage for years. The display is available during gallery opening times.
