The National Gallery Masterpiece Tour Mignard: Love, Power, Identity

The National Gallery Masterpiece Tour brings Pierre Mignard’s portrait The Marquise de Seignelay to the Cooper Gallery, alongside portraits from the Gallery’s own collection. The display explores identity and self-image through different sitters and artistic styles.

Love, Power and Identity is this year’s National Gallery Masterpiece Tour exhibition and visits four UK venues, including the Cooper Gallery. Barnsley Museums youth group Next Big Thing co-curated the display, which considers the stories of sitters and artists across time. The Cooper Gallery display runs from 14 November 2026 to 20 February 2027.
