About

Hands-on First World War activities for home-educated children aged 8–13 and their accompanying adults.

Museum staff lead a day of First World War activities, including making an egg-box wartime scene, decorating a pebble for the Army Flying Memorial and building a First World War biplane. Children can also follow the poppy trail through Hangars 1 and 2, and themed colouring sheets and word searches are available to take home. The published session runs 10:30–15:00, with activities at 10:30–11:30 and 14:00–15:00; a learning room is available for packed lunches. A parent or guardian must stay with each child.
