About

An illustrated lecture by John Hunt on the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group's 60-year relationship with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

John Hunt gives an illustrated lecture tracing the history of the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group and its long partnership with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In 1970 the NELPG owned two main line steam locomotives but had nowhere to run them, while the NYMR had a line but no suitable steam engines — the 'marriage of convenience' that endures today. The talk is described as sometimes serious and sometimes amusing.
