A free weekly creative writing and storytelling drop-in for West End Newcastle residents, led by writers Jasmine Plumpton and Sharon Thomas at St James Church, Benwell.

West End Writes is a free creative drop-in for people based in Newcastle's West End, hosted at St James Church, Benwell. Writers Jasmine Plumpton and Sharon Thomas lead informal sessions of creative writing and storytelling activities over a cup of tea, with no experience or commitment required. The group has also produced an anthology, This is the Place, exploring themes of place, self and community. Sessions run on listed Tuesday mornings through autumn 2026 and spring 2027.
