About

An exhibition presenting William Constable’s eighteenth-century herbarium of dried plants and tracing how botanical collecting connected the Hall to its landscape.

The display follows William Constable’s herbarium and its formation from the 1740s to the 1760s, then links the estate’s landscape to later work by Capability Brown. Objects are displayed in the Staircase Hall, Blue Room and Chippendale Room. Entry is included with Hall admission.
