Club Kali: Where East Meets West
About
Free display at Queer Britain marking thirty years of the Club Kali South Asian LGBTQ+ club night.
Where East Meets West is a display at Queer Britain drawn from Club Kali's thirty-year history as a South Asian LGBTQ+ club night. Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project collected oral histories and memorabilia from the club's community; a selection is shown here, with the full collection held at the Bishopsgate Institute. The display sits alongside the museum's other exhibitions and is accompanied by the Club Kali podcast series. Entry is free. The museum opens Wednesday to Sunday from midday to 6pm and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, and is shut from 22 December 2026 until it reopens on 7 January 2027.
