Lost Music Venues
About
A free V&A display celebrating around 50 lost UK music venues from the 1980s to 2010s with over 150 objects including gig flyers and club outfits.
This exhibition features around 50 'lost' performance spaces from across the UK, spanning the 1980s to the 2010s, from fundraiser queer club nights to infamous 'toilet' venues that helped establish acts such as Pulp and Ezra Collective. It celebrates these venues as an integral part of cultural heritage that nurtured talent, community and creativity, while also examining the challenges the sector faces. Over 150 objects are on display, ranging from gig flyers to club outfits, with more than half acquired through a public call-out for items related to lost venues.
