Peanut Butter & Blueberries

Leeds Playhouse stages Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan's acclaimed debut play about two students whose unexpected connection is tested by faith, family and life's pressures.

A Leeds Playhouse production of Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan's debut play, following its sell-out world premiere at London's Kiln Theatre. Hafsah and Bilal, students in London far from their homes in Bradford and Birmingham, are brought together by a peanut butter and blueberry sandwich, but as their ambitions pull them apart, faith, family and injustice test what they've found in each other. Directed by Sameena Hussain, the romantic comedy-drama stars Humera Syed as Hafsah and Kashif Ghole as Bilal. During the run the Terrace Bar becomes a dedicated non-alcoholic bar, with prayer spaces available around performances.
