Fashion Illustration inspired by Norman Hartnell

A one-day fashion illustration course explores 1950s silhouettes and Norman Hartnell’s decorative motifs using watercolour pencils.

The programme starts with a highlights tour, then moves through figure, face and fashion-illustration exercises and longer A3 drawings inspired by national flowers on the Queen’s ceremonial gowns. Some drawing skill is recommended; materials are supplied. Participants may visit the exhibition after the course until the gallery closes at 17:30.
