Mother Computer: Folk Dances From The Future
About
A dance performance by Imogen Reeve & Co. blending folklore and imagined futures through endurance, transformation and collective movement.
Three performers push their bodies through an act of physical endurance before a journey of transformation, drawing on enduring female archetypes such as witches, mermaids, mothers, snakes and warriors. The choreography moves between unison and disruption, with shaking as a central movement language, while reflective metallic costumes evoke futuristic technologies that shift into fluid, organic forms. The work explores how stories of womanhood are inherited and reimagined, and what it means to belong to one another in a world shaped by technological progress. Part of the Enable US programme of drama, dance and circus.
