A guided walk follows Canary Wharf’s transformation from former dockland into a major financial district, looking at surviving port traces, the area’s planning, and its mix of postmodern and high-tech buildings.
Led by Mike Althorpe, the tour connects the history of London’s 19th-century port with Docklands redevelopment from the 1980s onward. It examines marine and wharf remnants, architectural styles, planning decisions, and cycles of boom and bust.
