About
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, one of France's premier orchestras, returns to Bristol Beacon's Beacon Hall after their successful concert three years ago. Chief Conductor Aziz Shokhakimov opens with Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre, followed by American violinist Maria Ioudenitch performing Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1. The second half is devoted to Rachmaninov's Symphony No. 2. A free 30-minute pre-concert talk with Jonathan James takes place in Lantern Hall at 18:00 for ticket holders.
