Golden Thread Awards 2026 - The Thread of Hope Charity Dinner

A Black Tie charity dinner at The Milner York presenting the inaugural Golden Thread Awards for fashion, textiles and craft-led design.

The Company of Merchant Taylors in the City of York presents the inaugural Golden Thread Awards at a Black Tie charity dinner at The Milner York. The evening opens with a champagne reception, followed by the Town Crier's opening, the Lord Mayor's remarks, the Master's Address and an industry address from Gary McQueen, then a three-course dinner. Five awards are presented live, including the Golden Thread Award for Designer of the Year, the Textile Innovation Award and the Emerging Designer Award, with winners revealed on the night before an evening reception. The dinner supports the Company's charitable work helping the next generation of designers and makers.
