Hidden Gems Concert – Nikolai Medtner 75th Anniversary

A commemorative concert marking 75 years since Nikolai Medtner's death, featuring his chamber and vocal works performed by three artists at St Mary le Strand.

This Hidden Gems concert marks the 75th anniversary of the death of Russian composer Nikolai Medtner, a contemporary of Rachmaninoff often described as one of the last great Russian Romantics. Pianist Thomas Ang, violinist Anna Ovsyanikova and soprano Christine Buras perform a programme of Medtner's chamber and vocal works, ranging from vocal romances and violin melodies to virtuosic piano pieces. The evening takes place in the baroque acoustic of St Mary le Strand church.
