Stepdance & Playing for Stepdance Workshops

A combined dance and music workshop led by Alison Carlyle and Amy Geddes, where dancers and musicians learn rhythms and tunes for percussive dancing.

The workshop uses tunes and steps from Deiseil: Dancing in Time. Dancers of all levels, including beginners, learn to create rhythms with their feet, while musicians (intermediate level or above) work on pulse, beat, rhythm, and tunes for percussive dancing. Separate sessions for musicians and dancers are combined so participants can learn together. Participants should wear comfortable shoes (hard soles are ideal) and bring water.
