Hasbian

A queer coming-of-age comedy drawn from Beth Watson’s real teenage diary, with animated magazine cut-outs and a soundtrack of turn-of-the-millennium pop and indie music.

Beth Watson turns her real teenage diary into a comic account of growing up queer in Brighton in the late 1990s and early 2000s, during Section 28. Animated magazine cut-outs frame the story of adolescence, identity and first crushes. The performance includes projected captions and artistically integrated audio description. It is for ages 16 and over. Sensitive content includes sexual activity and alcohol use among teenagers aged 14–16, bullying and homophobic or biphobic language, sexually predatory or objectifying behaviour, and an incident of physical violence.
