The Railway Children
About
Derby Theatre stages an Olivier Award-winning adaptation of E. Nesbit's The Railway Children, a family show for ages 5+ running from late November to early January.
This winter production adapts E. Nesbit's classic story of siblings Roberta, Peter and Phyllis, who move from London to a house beside the railway in rural Derbyshire and find friendship and discovery in their new life. The Olivier Award-winning staging uses music and storytelling, with themes of family, community and hope through hard times. Performances include previews, a press night, schools performances and accessible shows (BSL interpreted, captioned, audio described, relaxed and dementia friendly). Age guidance is 5+, with mild moments of tension and theatrical effects such as smoke and train sounds.
