Byrne's Night

A Burns Night celebration blending Talking Heads and David Byrne songs by indie supergroups with Robert Burns poetry recitals and drag performance.

Byrne's Night is a celebration pairing the music of David Byrne and Talking Heads with recitals of Robert Burns poetry, performed by ever-changing supergroups drawn from London's indie, punk and experimental scenes. Founded by Maddy O'Keefe and Lola Stephen, the event began at Hackney's MOTH Club in 2023 and has since appeared at Wide Awake Festival and Green Man. Drag performer Ash Kenazi adds theatricality to an evening that mixes music, literature and unpredictable collaboration.
