GHIL Colloquium – Colloquium 16/2026: Sarah Maria Schnödewind (University of Münster): Diskursgemeinschaften in Zeiten von Reform und Konflikt am Beispiel anglo-lateinischer Hagiographie im 11. und 12. Jahrhundert
About
A GHIL colloquium in which Sarah Maria Schnödewind presents research on discourse communities in Anglo-Latin hagiography of the 11th and 12th centuries.
This colloquium features a presentation by Sarah Maria Schnödewind of the University of Münster on discourse communities in times of reform and conflict, using Anglo-Latin hagiography of the 11th and 12th centuries as a case study. The GHIL's regular informal colloquia give the institute's scholarship-holders a chance to present their research to GHIL staff and other historians in their field, and serve as a forum for British and German PhD students and post-docs to discuss work in progress. The session is chaired by Thomas Kaal, runs from 2.30 to 4pm, and takes place in a hybrid format, both in person at the GHIL and online via Zoom. It may be held in German or English; those wishing to attend are asked to contact the institute.
