About
A six-week club for ages 7-14 exploring Carboniferous-era plant fossils, with hands-on identification and fossil journaling.
Junior Fossil Club is a six-week block of weekly 45-minute sessions for children aged 7-14, exploring life around 300 million years ago in the Carboniferous Period. Each week young participants learn how plant fossils formed, identify real Carboniferous fossils such as ancient ferns, swamp-forest leaves and Lepidodendrons, and keep a fossil journal like real geologists. Sessions take place in the fossil forest; parents are asked to wait in the coffeehouse during each session.
