Botanical Freehand Machine Embroidery Workshop

A beginner-friendly botanical freehand machine embroidery workshop with Lara, finishing a lampshade, lantern, picture or cushion.

Lara, an embroiderer with 15 years of workshop experience, teaches freehand machine embroidery on a standard domestic sewing machine, themed around botanicals for Leonardslee. After a demonstration on machine set-up, tension and troubleshooting, participants stitch along a pre-drawn seedhead and wildflower panel, with applique fabrics to experiment with. The finished piece can become a small lampshade, lantern, picture or cushion, and the day includes an afternoon tea lunch break.
